Introducing:
the AC4490 transceiver from
The AeroComm AC4490-200 from TeleLink Communications is a cost-effective, high performance,
frequency hopping 900MHz spread spectrum transceiver with 200mW output.
And now there’s a high power version, the AC4490-1000, offering a very long range 1000mW output.
They can be used as a direct serial cable replacement – requiring no special host software for operation.
They also feature a number of on-the-fly control commands providing the OEM with a very versatile
interface for any network.
They provide an asynchronous TTL/RS-485 level serial interface for OEM host communications.
Communications include both system and configuration data. The host supplies system data for
transmission to other host(s). Configuration data is stored in an on-board EEPROM. All frequency
hopping, synchronization, and RF system data transmission/reception is performed by the transceiver.
RF-232 supports point-to-point or point-to-multipoint, client/server or peer-to-peer configurations. One
transceiver is configured as a server and there can be one or many clients. To establish synchronization
between transceivers, the server emits a beacon. Upon detecting a beacon, a client transceiver informs its
host and a RF link is established.
AeroComm’s embedded transparent protocol simplifies the OEM’s integration process by allowing for
drop-in installation. As each transceiver receives raw data, it manages over-the-air protocol to assure
successful communication. Headers, data packet length, and CRCs are not needed. Broadcast
communication to all transceivers or address packets to a specific destination using unique MAC addresses
embedded in each transceiver.
