Hard-to-get parts & PCB for the Capacitor Discharge Welder Energy Storage Module (ESM)
A set of hard-to-get parts to build one CD Welder ESM; see the parts list link below for details on what is included.
To make a complete ESM, you need to add the electrolytic capacitors, the connectors, the LED and the through-hole resistor.
Notes:
1) You will need multiple sets of these parts - between 8 and 14 (see the articles). You will also need the Power Supply (partial kit available separately), Controller (PCB available separately) and sundry other parts, as detailed in the articles.
2) The Mosfet driver has an exposed pad on the bottom (matching a pad on the PCB) but this does not need to be soldered. The ground connection is via one of the external pins and it does not need extra heatsinking.
3) The photo shows the fully assembled module, including parts not included in this kit.
